The date in which i am scheduled to film is quick approaching, I have booked my actress. I am using a 13 year old girl, who is interested in drama. She was very happy to lend a hand.
Over the weekend, i visited the location, just to check that everything was in order and how i remembered.
After watching various films and television programs, it has inspired me and given me a lot more ideas. This is useful, seeing as before i was concerned as to whether I was going to actually fill a full 2 minutes.
Before filming on Friday there are still a few things i need to do. When story boarding my ideas, I have decided to write a story board, rather drawings. Personally this enables me to have a clearer picture of what needs to be done, this may not be the case for the rest of my piers.
The only worries i have are about getting the filming and editing done on time. Ive scheduled myself to have whole weekend of filming, this included both interior and exterior shots. I know for a fact that the editing will take a bit of time, however i'm willing to give up my spare time to get this done.
Because my film isnt aimed at the mainstream audience, I want to try and convey some originality within my work. I would hope that this would make it a little bit more interesting.
Also, because my opening is fairly ambiguous hopefully this reinforces the fact its not for such a mainstream audience.

The Soundtrack...
When considering what music I wanted to use for my film opening. Right from the start i knew that i wanted to use a piece of classical music, something that would evoke strong emotion right from the start. Recently, whilst watching a load of films I've really been concentrating on the music, and how different types of music triggers different emotions. I was watching the 2011 adaptation of Jane Eyre and the music when Jane escapes was exactly the kind of music that I wanted. After listening a few times i began to weave my ideas within the music.
Janes Escape Music
The Pride and Prejudice song bellow is very good, however there is only about 40 seconds that i would want to use. Im going to consider repeating these 40 odd seconds over and over. However this is something im going to think about once ive put my film together.
Pride and Prejudice
A list of other songs that are potential:
The Last Dutchess
Courtyard Apocalypse
Statues

Scribble Works
Scribble Works is my production company. After having various different ideas, I chose to make my production company logo to look almost home made. I got my inspiration from the opening of the film Juno. This picture is what inspired me:

Even after many attempts on Adobe After Affects i still wasnt producing things that are of a professional standard, so by making it look more homemade taking inspiration from films such as Juno and Monsters ink it would create my own creative, individual spin.

Looking into film production companies.
BBC Films is the feature film-making arm of the BBC. It is firmly established at the forefront of British independent film-making and co-produces approximately eight films a year. Working in partnership with major international and UK distributors, BBC Films aims to make strong British films with range and ambition. We are committed to finding and developing new talent, as well as collaborating with some of the foremost writers and directors in the industry.
The BBC Films website contains film pages for all BBC Films releases, most of which contain the official UK trailer. Interviews, set-visits and behind-the-scenes footage from BBC Films productions are available on our sister website, BBC Film Network. See above for a promo video outlining the range of content offered online.

When thinking different production companies, I wanted to focus on smaller and more independent film companies. Although the BBC is extremely well known for British television, their films are less recognised by the wider audience. I always try and make sure that i keep up to date with the films they have coming out.
After watching this short film on their website, it inspired me to really want to delve deeper and create something that was a replica of the films that they make.

More Editing......
After creating the hangover opening, I feel that i'm far more confident with editing, therefore i would like to take risks and maybe explore a bit more with effects. When filming and editing the hangover we had to use flashbacks, so i think i'd like to explore this within my film.
I don't want to have direct flashbacks to a moment in time, but i want to have flash backs to images, for example a dairy flicking open, or a old fashioned photo. I'm hoping that this will be easier than editing a whole chunk with speech, as i know that something could go wrong with the continuity.
I think flash backs bring a sense of depth to a film. I want my opening to be fairly ambiguous, i want it to leave audiences wanting more and wondering about each element of the extract that they've just seen. I think by using flashbacks it gives it more dimensions and provides more options for the audiences imagination.

Casting.
Now I feel as if I have got a clear image in my mind of how i want my film opening to be. I need to seriously think about casting.

I originally wanted to have someone my age, as that would fit in well with my story line. However i've been advised otherwise, so I want to cant someone who is perhaps around 2 or 4 years younger.
I've asked my drama teacher, and she has put forward some names of young, enthusiastic children in year 9, who are interested in drama and are willing to help me.
I wanted someone who looked quite girlie, but still innocent.
In my mind I had a image of short blonde hair, not very tall and quite petite. However because i don't have a lot of people to chose from, i will just have to stick with who is the most enthusiastic.
If I was making a film in the real film industry, i would probably cast either one of these actress':
